Hi everyone, I have a question almost updating some of my Intel Drivers, similar the Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller commuter.
I've been searching the spider web and Intel site, but I can't find the drivers for information technology. I know mine is very out of date and needs updating, only Windows Update says it'southward using the most up to version (Which it ever says even when we know it's not true), and Intel Hardware Checker app doesn't seem to find it.
And then I'm very confused and was wondering if anyone has a link to the drivers for this controller, or could offering me whatsoever advice please.

Thank yous

Thanks, that is one I found already, but I was unsure as it doesn't say annihilation almost C216. Plus, information technology says the latest is 2012, only a lot of other sites I institute show updates from 2013 and early 2014 :-\

[Edit] Sorry I should accept added my Mobo model: ASUS Z77 Sabertooth. I did check the ASUS folio just I was always told to download drivers like these direct from Intel themselves.

But try to get the latest version. Is your electric current driver the latest version? If you're not having problems, exit information technology as is.

Just attempt to get the latest version. Is your electric current driver the latest version? If you're not having problems, go out it as is.

Well I but added a couple of extra SSD'due south to my rig, I benched them after any firmware updates were done. The results were very slow, and I know 100% that they are plugged into Intel SATA three (6GBs) ports with SATA three cables. So I checked my drivers equally I recently did a fresh install of Win7, and I saw my Intel Chipset drivers are from early 2011.

Aye I do understand what y'all mean, I would usually have a bench as a crude guide, but before I did the fresh install of Win 7, my kicking SSD benched at around 505MBs Read and 490MBs Write, that was with loads of junk on it. But at present since the install and my drivers have gone back to being most iv years out of date, it benched half of that speed! One of the new SSD's benched slower than a 5 year sometime SATA 2 (3GBs) HDD.
I accept tested the new SSD's, non including my boot drive, on another PC and they benched at the speed they should and seemed a lot fast in normal use too.

So I think I definitely demand to update these drivers similar I did a couple of years dorsum, only at present, I only tin can't find them anywhere.

Yes, I had them earlier my fresh Bone install, I think mine were from 2012/2013, and I have seen people with versions as recent as 2014. Simply.... I tin can't discover them anywhere and I have really search hard :-\

The latest Chipset drivers on the ASUS site is from early 2012 which is a outset, but while searching the web, I establish a few sites like Lenovo, DriversCape, e.t.c.. that have more up to date versions from 2014. I'm just not sure if they would be compatible with mine and if sites like DriversCape are safe to use.

Make sure you've got good virus protection similar Avast and Malwarebytes before diving into some of those sites. Lenovo should be OK.

Merely wouldn't the Lenovo drivers be specifically for Lenovo devices??? Sorry if that's a derpy question, drivers are not my potent suit.
I hateful I would be willing to try them, but what could result from the wrong or incompatible chipset driver??? Would be easy to role back to a compatible one, or would it be catastrophic??

If you're only subsequently the driver for that one chip and so that'd be OK.
